The Project
Initial Situation & Use
In an existing sandblasting machine, flanges (rings) are loaded automatically and removed again after sandblasting.
The original equipment manufacturer was no longer available, the technical documentation was completely missing and the grapple in use was severely worn.
The goal was to reconstruct and redesign the worn gripper components while taking into account the existing system and interfaces.
Our Solution
G+P Engineering AG conducted an on-site assessment of the current situation, redesigned the gripper mechanically and manufactured and installed the new gripper unit.
The solution was designed for various ring diameters and seamlessly integrated into the existing handling system.
Technical Specifications
- 3-point internal gripper for ring-shaped components
- Gripping range (inner diameter): ca. 90 mm bis 610 mm
- Central, star-shaped movement of the gripping tongs
- Integrated crash protection and position sensors
- Handling-Weight: ca. 30 kg
Customer Benefits
- Restarting the plant without any loss of production
- Maintenance of the existing plant infrastructure
- Reliable handling of various component formats
- Robust mechanical solution for continuous operation
